Unusual Guests!

Sometimes, we have unusual guests for portraits!  Sam-short for Samson came by last week for his Senior Portraits--or at least for Brooke's Senior Portraits!  He thought that it was his turn, and just made himself at home.  Sam is such a gentle giant, and is so thoroughly loved by Brooke and her family, that it was a pleasure to have him here.

But, it really is Brooke's senior year, and she really had great ideas about what she wanted for her session.  We played for a long time--sorry, I went over on time, but I couldn't help myself.  Thanks for coming in, and I can't wait until Tuesday to show you the rest!

Tyler, Kickapoo

Tyler came in with a gorgeous red jeep!  We started planning on what we wanted to do with this great car.  It is obviously his pride and joy.  All in all we had a great day for senior pictures-not hot, not raining, and a great prop to play with

Sam

Samantha came ready for fun!  She brought her bicycle, her truck and her fun funky clothes.  She has a great sense of style, and a neat sense of humor.  It was fun to work with her!

Miracle baby

Here he is! My newest friend, Grant.  He truely is a miracle baby, and the fact that he is home with no meds, and thriving is an incredible story.  I was able to hear all about his journey tonight from mom and dad.  One of the most touching stories is about the cross that is in his pictures and that hangs from his crib.  On one of the worst nights, his grandmother and aunt were driving to St. Louis to see him when they had a flat tire.  A stranger stopped to help them and changed the tire for them so that they could get back on their way.  They told him why they were making the trip, and he insisted that they go have their tire repaired immediately so that there would still be a spare available.  He followed them to Walmart in case they needed his help before they got there.  The passenger in his car got out and came to them and told them with complete assurance, "Hang this cross on his crib and he will be well".  They did put the cross on his crib when they arrived in St. Louis, and his health began to improve that night and everyday thereafter. Blessings, Grant!

Chris Friederich Senior 2011

Chris is leaving tomorrow for college at Kansas State!  Mom called to see if she could get him in for some pictures before he left.  It was such a pleasure to meet Chris.  He is going to do so well at college--I just want to wish him all the best and give him a sneak peek of his portraits.

Baby Grant is coming over!

This afternoon I get to meet a new friend!   His name is Grant and he is a newborn addition to Erin, Brandon and Brodie's family!  He was born in early July, but had some problems getting here and spent the first few weeks of his life in St. Louis at Children's Mercy.  He is a very determined young man, and he overcame all of the problems that he had, in order to come home with Mom, Dad and big brother.  This is such a joyous day for me...I can't wait to see him.

What a great week!

This has been one of the most fun weeks ever!  Several of my small friends came by to play (of course, they brought their parents with them), and it has been great.  Zoey came by to celebrate her 6 month birthday.  She is sitting up, laughing and being beautiful all around.  I always enjoy her (and her family)! She looks like a doll in her strawberries

 

 

Next, Grant came by for his first birthday party!  He has the most huge blue eyes and a very laid back temperment.  He was a little shy at first and then he warmed up to me.  He really had fun playing ball with Dad, and when Mom gave him the cupcake, he was quite polite with it.  He took just pinches of the icing until he figured out that it was alright for him to dig in!

 

Finally, little Alizabeth came in with Mom, Dad and brother, Aidrik.  She is only 3 months old, but she is just a wonderful, vibrant little girl.  She laughs and plays with you, and she doesn't mind the 'costume' changes!  All girl, with painted fingernails and toes, tutus and pearls. 

Busy week and weekend. Many new sessions to prepare and show. A great wedding this weekend-Amanda and Trevor and friends were wonderful to work with, and Renee and Brian stopped by with Logan and Ainsley for family portraits. Lots of fun! I will be getting many ready to show you!

Laura and Kaitlyn came together to have senior portraits

and they got one of the hottest days of the summer.  The horses were too hot, the girls were too hot and so was the photographer-me!  It was dangerously hot, so we went slow and carefully and as you can see, we have some lovely images of each of them.  Thanks, ladies for being so great to work with.

Kaitlyn from Central

As everyone knows, the weather in the midwest has been hot, hot, hot.  Normally, we would have rescheduled for a cooler day, but we have had 3 weeks of 95-105 degree heat, and so we gave up and moved slowly.  The hottest day was the one at the horsebarn.  It was over 105 inside the barn and not much cooler outside.  Kaitlyn was so good at remaining cool!  Thanks so much for being such fun to work with!
